Phillip J. Taormino Sr., 85; of Fulton passed away peacefully at his home Wednesday, November 2nd. He was born in Fulton, NY to the late Joseph Taormina and Mary Trepasso Taormina Defren. He remained a lifetime resident of Fulton. Mr. Taormino was a United States Korean War Veteran having served in the Army from 1948-1952. He was past employed with General Electric, Syracuse and later retired from the Fulton Consolidated School System in 1992 where he worked as the Head Custodian. Mr. Taormino enjoyed many activities in his younger years. He loved to snowmobile, fish and hunt, and to go camping. He was always a fan of old western movies. He was pre-deceased by his wife Mary Taormino in 2010, his brother Benny Trepasso, and sister Mary Jane Grimshaw. Mr. Taormino is survived by his children: Michelle (Keith) Vincent of Hannibal, Phillip Taormino Jr., of Fulton, Linda (Scott) LeCuyer of NC, and Marie (Rod) Kouthoofd of Oswego, 2 brothers: Joseph Taormina Jr., of Fulton, and Christopher “Cricket” Defren of Fulton, 7 grandchildren: Heather, Michael, Ryan, Bryce, Alex, Michelle and Angela, 6 great grandchildren: Joshua, Jacob, Anthony, Adrianna, Emery, and Leo and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Calling hours will be conducted Monday from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Sugar Funeral Home, Inc., 224 West 2nd St. S., Fulton with a Funeral Service to follow at 11:00 AM in the funeral home with Rev. John Canorro officiating. Burial will be held in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Fulton.
