Shirley Collins, 81; of Fulton passed away peacefully with her family by her side Friday, September 4th after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Mrs. Collins was born in 1939 in Fulton, NY to the late to the late Donald and Gladys (Hayden) Thompson. She has remained a lifetime resident of Fulton. Shirley was a devout Jehovah’s Witness, baptized in 1985. She was past employed with Nestles Co., Fulton and Oswego County Opportunities. Shirley was predeceased by her daughter; Karen Maxam, her son Timothy Maxam and sister and brother-in-law: Theresa and Charles Conn. She is survived by her husband of 44 years: Gilbert Collins of Fulton, her children; Susan (William) Rothwell and Michael (Amy) Maxam; daughter-in-law: Cathleen Maxam, 4 grandsons: Brandon (Jennifer) Maxam, Ryan (Sarah) Maxam, Joseph (Kayli) Maxam and Ross (Ashley) Maxam; 10 great grandchildren, and 4 nieces: Sally (Daniel) DeStevens, Pam (Ed) Yates, Sandy (Keith Kane) Parkhurst and Linda (Toby) Torbitt. Funeral Services and Burial will be held privately. There will be no calling hours. The Sugar Funeral Home Inc., 224 W. 2nd St. S., Fulton has care of the arrangements.
