Robert G. Crawford, 87, of Oswego died Thursday January 12, 2017 in St. Luke Health Services. He was born in Kittanning, PA the son of the late George and Ruth (Harer) Crawford. Mr. Crawford lived most of his life in California and Northeast, PA before moving to Oswego in July of 2015. Mr. Crawford worked as a civil engineer for Bechtel Co., in Michigan, Ralph Parsons in CA, and he was an independent contractor at Camp Pendleton. Later he became head of maintenance at Rancho Santa Fe Golf Course in CA. Mr. Crawford served in the United States Marine Corp. during the Korean War. He was a national member of the VFW, and a member of the Knights of Columbus in Northeast, PA. Mr. Crawford was predeceased by his wife Marcella Crawford in 2014. He is survived by his children Catherine (Keith) Hook of Oswego, and Robert (Kimauni) Crawford in CA, and his grandchildren Stephen, Andrew, Clare, and Sydney. Funeral services will be Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Stephen’s Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Richard Morisette. Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are in the care of the Sugar & Scanlon Funeral Home 147 West 4th St. Oswego, NY 13126.
