
Michael W. Clyne, 80, of Oswego died Friday October 18, 2024 in Crouse Hospital, Syracuse.
He was born in Fayetteville, NY the son of the late William and Anne (Spencer) Clyne. He retired from the Oswego School District as a physical education teacher at the Oswego High School. Mr. Clyne was also a football and baseball coach for the high school for many years. He was a history buff and would travel to Gettysburg every opportunity he had. Mr. Clyne enjoyed going to sporting events, and watching them on the TV. He always looked forward to attending breakfast with his friends, and the retired teachers’ dinners at Vona’s. He was a birdwatcher, and was fond of all animals. Mr. Clyne loved gatherings with family and friends.
He was predeceased by his wife Marilyn Clyne in 2015. Mr. Clyne is survived by his children Karen Clyne of Oswego, Brian (Janet) Clyne of Oswego, grandchildren Eric and Joshua Clyne.
He is also survived by his sister Edith (Kerry) Greene of Oregon, nieces Erin, Katie, Heidi, and nephews Ian and Dan.
Funeral services will be Friday October 25, 2024 at 10:00 at St. Mary’s Church and Shrine, Oswego.
Burial will be private.
Calling hours will be Thursday from 4:00 to 6:00 at the Sugar & Scanlon Funeral Home 147 W. 4th. St. Oswego.

It is with great sadness that I pass along information that a
great teacher and Coach passed away today…Mr. Mike Clyne. Coach Clyne was my football coach and baseball coach, a mentor in coaching football and life, an advisor, and a wonderful friend. Coach Clyne had dedication and compassion for all students at Oswego High School. It is with great honor, respect, and sadness that I pass along this news!Rest in Peace Coach!
Heaven gained another true angel. Mr Clyde was absolutely the nicest man and a great coach.
Mike was the sweetest, kindest man, I will miss him greatly !! He will be missed by so many !! Never had a sour word to say about anyone!
