Lillian (Onofri) Familo, 90, died Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at St. Luke’s Health Services. Born in Oswego, Lillian was the daughter of the late Dominic and Mary (Vona) Onofri and the beloved mother of Lillian (George) Howell, Irene (David) Ford, John (Patty) Familo, Sam (Sue) Familo, Dorothy (David) Hamm, and Alice (Bill) Scott, and the cherished grandmother to 16 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. Lillian is also survived by her sister Louise Crisafulli, brother Francis (Mary) Onofri, and sister-in laws Genevieve Loughrey and Marie Bellow. She was predeceased by her siblings James Onofri, Anna Giambo, and Victoria Loughlin.
Lillian retired from the Oswego County Department of Personnel where she worked as a Senior Typist for twenty plus years and was a life- long communicant of St. Joseph’s Church in Oswego. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren whom she taught how to make jigsaw puzzles, play cards, bingo, many games and the fine art of porch sitting. Lillian will be greatly missed for her easy going spirit, famous homemade Italian gnocchi and the world’s best jello. She was an avid reader and enjoyed knitting, crocheting, playing cards, and taking walks.
Lillian’s family would like to thank the staff at Bishop Commons and St. Luke’s for the care and kindness they bestowed.
Funeral services will be held Friday April 29, 2016 at 9:00 a.m. in St. Joseph’s Church, Oswego, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Greg Kreinheder.

To all the Familos, I wish to extend my deepest sympathies on the passing of your mother. I have many fond memories of her and your home as I grew up on 5th Ave.
She lived a long life, but I’m sure she will be sorely missed.

So sorry for your loss of such a special woman. She was a huge part of your close-knit family. She was always present at all the special occasions and will leave you all with wonderful memories. Alice always talked about how all of her siblings came together to help care for Lillian as simple chores became more difficult. I know she is very proud of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Thoughts are with you at this most difficult time.
Dear Dorothy and Family, we are very sorry for you loss. Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. Truly, The Hanley and Collins familes
