Gerald Hammond, 84; of Fulton passed away peacefully at home with family after an extended illness. He was born in Fulton, NY to the late Harvey and Mary (Ormsby) Hammond. Mr. Hammond has remained a lifetime resident of Fulton. He retired from Northern, Fulton after working for 42 years as an Operating Engineer. Mr. Hammond enjoyed the nature surrounding his home and spending his weekends at the dirt race track. He was pre-deceased by his siblings: Rose, Beverly, Lillian, Harvey and Paul. Mr. Hammond is survived by his wife Brenda Hammond of Fulton, daughter Brandy Hammond of Fulton, step-daughter Crystal (Ralph) Casillo of Fulton, brothers: Pete Hammond of Fulton, Bill Hammond of Phoenix, NY; 4 grandchildren: Albert Brooks, John Casillo, R.J. Casillo Jr., Virginia Bednarski and several nieces and nephews. There will be no funeral service. Calling hours will be held 1:00 to 3:00 PM Sunday at the Sugar Funeral Home, Inc., 224 W. 2nd St. S., Fulton. Burial will be held privately in Jacksonville Cemetery, Lysander, NY.
