Genevieve Runeare

September 28, 2012

Genevieve Runeare, 97; of Fulton died Friday at Oswego Hospital, Oswego after a peaceful passing.  She was born in Fulton to the late Louis and Anna (Bevacqua) Rotella.  She remained a life resident of Fulton and spent considerable time visiting her sons in Santa Cruz, CA. Mrs. Runeare was past employed with the Fulton Consolidated School District Lunch Program.  She was a past member of the Holy Family Altar Rosary, Fulton Women’s Club, and past president of the Holy Family Golden Agers.  She was a longtime member of the A.L. Lee Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, and Catholic Daughters Court Pere LeMoyne. Jen spent time with all her family, either in New York or in Santa Cruz, CA. The gift that she imparted was her belief in family and her enjoyment of food. She made dozens of trips to California over the years and formed relationships on both coasts. Those who had the pleasure of knowing her were rewarded by her love of food and invariably, she would be delighting everyone with Italian cooking, especially eggplant parmesan or her famous spaghetti and meatballs. Many hours were spent around the kitchen table enjoying her company and her delicious meals. We will be forever grateful and she will be fondly remembered by all those whose lives she touched.

She was pre-deceased by her husband Carcido Runeare in 1982.  She is survived by 6 children:  Joseph Runeare, Louis Runeare, Larry (Colleen) Runeare, and Michael (Linda) Runeare all of CA, Kathleen (Walter) Lotz of FL, and Christine (Christopher Shue) Runeare of Fulton, 10 grandchildren:  Jamie, William, Tracey, Matthew, Gina, Maggie, Gabrielle, Nicholas, Sebastian, Maxwell, several great grandchildren nieces and nephews.  Funeral Services will be held:  9:00 AM Monday in the Sugar Funeral Home, Inc., and 9:30 AM in Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Minetto where a mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Robert Stephenson.  Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Fulton.  Calling hours will be held 4:00 to 7:00 PM Sunday at the Sugar Funeral Home, Inc., 224 W. 2nd St. S., Fulton.
