Edward J. Kasperek

Edward J. Kasperek, 86; of Fulton passed away Tuesday morning peacefully at Seneca Hill Manor, Volney after a long illness. He was born in Oswego to the late Joseph and Anne (Stobnicke) Kasperek. Ed was a resident of Fulton for most of his life. While in Oswego High School he was named All-State in Football. Mr. Kasperek was a United States Veteran having served in the Army during the Korean War. He worked and retired as a Lineman with Niagara Mohawk after several years of employment. Mr. Kasperek modeled his life by these words: Family, Church, Work, Play. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, enjoyed hunting, fishing, cooking, cutting wood and working hard. He was a past Alderman, and he was a member of the Fulton Gauchos. He loved playing the bugle/trumpet and singing. Ed received much peace through music and the outdoors. He was an avid volunteer and morning mass attendee with Holy Family Church and Holy Trinity Church, Fulton. He was longtime member of the Fulton Polish Home. Ed was well-known for his corny jokes and always enjoyed helping make people laugh. Mr. Kasperek liked to play cards and he was an loyal fan of his grandchildren’s sports events and endeavors.
He was pre-deceased by his 1st wife: MaryAnn Kasperek, and brother: Thomas Kasperek.
Mr. Kasperek is survived by his wife of 18 years Geraldine “Jerry” Hogan Kasperek of Fulton, children: Edward P. (Sue Jones) Kasperek of Fulton, Joanne (Michael) Pollock of Fulton, Teresa Wendt of IN, step-children: Karen (Charles) Fadden of Hannibal, NY; Lynn (Dennis) Lyons of Fulton, Michael (Michele) Hogan of OR, Andrew (Gina) Hogan of Fulton; his sister Anna Mae Wapen of Lockport, NY; 7 grandchildren, 11 step grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, 14 step-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held 9:30 AM Monday in Holy Trinity Church where a mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Joseph Scardella. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Fulton. Calling hours will be conducted 1:00 to 4:00 PM Sunday in Sugar Funeral Home, Inc., 224 W. 2nd St. S., Fulton. Donations may be made to Unity Acres 2290 County Rte. 2, Orwell, NY 13426;
