Afton Louise Elhage

Afton Louise Elhage, 91; formerly of Fulton passed away June 9th at Advent Health Care Center, Zephyrhills, FL. She was born in LaBelle, Idaho to the late Arnold Alfonso and Cora Isabell (Hall) Bate. Mrs. Elhage grew up in Boise, Idaho and lived there until she married at 17 years old. She and her husband resided in Palermo, NY until 1987 and after his death she moved to Zephyrhills, FL to be closer to her family. Mrs. Elhage was a loving homemaker, who enjoyed reading, gardening, cooking, and teaching her children simple yet useful tasks to make life a little bit easier. She was pre-deceased by her husband: Ferris Anton Elhage, their son Jeffrey Arnold Elhage, Grandson: Jeffrey Ferris, and 2 brothers and 2 sisters. Mrs. Elhage is survived by her children: Eileen (Raymond) Rice of Baldwinsville, NY; Steven (Joyce) Elhage of Bedford, VA; Roger (Cinde) Elhage of Bulls Gap, TN; Kathryn Godfrey of Phoenix, NY; and Nancy (Danny) Charles of Dade City, FL; siblings: Ralph (Ruby) Kangas of Donnelly, Idaho; over 40 grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Elhage was buried at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Fulton with a private graveside service and committal rites that included her immediate family and was officiated by Rev. Jeff Hodge. The local arrangements were in the care of the Sugar Funeral Home, Inc., 224 W. 2nd St. S., Fulton, NY.
