OSWEGO – January 13, 2025,Mary Santore, 102; of Oswego, NY passed peacefully in her sleep at her daughter’s Scriba Town home, Monday, January 13th, 2025; after living a long and fulfilled life.
Mrs. Santore was born in Kirkville, NY to the late Angelo and Jessie Cretaro. She has been a longtime resident of Oswego, NY. Mrs. Santore had been a working woman prior to having a family. Then, her focus was to be a successful wife, mother, grandma and homemaker. In her later years, she was last employed with the Oswego School District as a Crossing Guard. Mary loved working in her garden. She also enjoyed cooking and crocheting.
Mrs. Santore was pre-deceased by her husband Joseph Santore in 1972, her seven siblings and her son-in-law: Richard E. Ackerman.
Mary is survived by her 3 children: Mary Jane (Ralph) Izzo of Scriba, NY; Patricia Ackerman of Oswego, NY; and Joseph (Sandy) Santore of SC; her 6 grandchildren: Michele, Holly, Kelly, Lisa, Alexandra and Caitlin; 3 great grandchildren: Lia, Natalie and Andrew and several niece and nephews.
A Funeral Service followed by the Rite of Committal will be held at privately at the Sugar & Scanlon Funeral Home, 147 W. 4th St., Oswego with Deacon Nick Alvaro officiating.
Burial will be conducted privately in St. Peter’s Cemetery, Oswego, NY.
There will be no calling hours.
