Josephine D. Gero

Josephine Dalia Gero, 90, a former resident of Franklin Ave., Oswego died Thursday after a long illness. Mrs. Gero was born in Oswego the daughter of the late Thomas and Nancy (LaMote) Dalia. She lived most of her life in Oswego and resided with her daughter in Rome for the past 10 years. She graduated from Oswego High School in 1936. She worked as a secretary for the Oswego Hospital, the N.Y. Telephone, and the Oswego City School District retiring in 1982.  Mrs. Gero was a member of the CSEA and a communicant of St. Joseph’s Church of Oswego. She was predeceased by her husband of 40 years, James Gero May 5, 1992. Mrs. Gero is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Nancy and Jack V. Chesebro Jr. of Rome, and her grandson Jack V. Chesebro III. Funeral services will be Saturday 10:00 a.m. in St. Joseph Church where a Mass of Christian will be celebrated. Burial will be in All Saints Mausoleum. The arrangements were in the care of the Sugar & Scanlon Funeral home 147 West Fourth Street, Oswego. Contributions may be made to St. Joseph’s Church, Oswego, NY.
