William V. Black

William V. Black, 93; formerly of Fulton and recently of Rochester, NY passed away peacefully at The Shore Winds Nursing Home Rochester, NY. Mr. Black was born in Texas, NY to the late Peter and Florence (Thompson) Black. He grew up in Mexico, NY and spent most of his life (57 years) in Fulton, NY. He has lived in Rochester, NY for the last 10 years. Mr. Black was a United States Veteran having served during WWII. He retired in 1983 from Carrier Corp., Syracuse; where he had worked as an R&D technician. Mr. Black was a past member of the Fulton Garden Club. He loved camping and playing golf. He was pre-deceased by his wife of 55 years Doris (Willis) Black in 2001, 3 brothers and 1 sister. Mr. Black is survived by 4 children: Corlene Porter of MA, Gregory Black of FL and NY, David Black of NC, Robert Black of NC, and companion Sally Baechle of NY, 10 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Graveside Services will be held in the spring at Mexico Cemetery, Mexico, NY. The Sugar Funeral Home, Inc., 224 W. 2nd St. S. Fulton has care of the arrangements.
