William A.D. MacDonald

William A.D. MacDonald, 86, died Thursday at Sunrise Rehabilitation Center, Oswego, NY following a long illness. William was born June 1, 1922 in Boston, MA, son of the late Archibald and Margaret (Dalrymple) MacDonald. He attended Boston schools, and was a graduate of Northeastern University. William was a decorated veteran serving in the United States Marine Corp during WWII in the Pacific Theater from 1943-1946 as a rifle sharpshooter. William was a highly respected Boston City Police Officer for thirty- four years, a member of the Boston Patrolman’s Association, and the Massachusetts Retirees Association. William was a Master Mason and member of the St. John’s Lodge in Boston for over sixty years. Mr. MacDonald was predeceased by his loving wife of 48 years Myrtle G. MacDonald. He is survived by his son William P. (Rosemary) MacDonald of Oswego, NY, sister Olive (Benito) Oteri of Braintree, MA, granddaughters Nicole MacDonald of Rochester, NY, and Megan MacDonald of Oswego, NY, nephew Tony (Laura) Oteri of Middleboro, MA, and niece Bonita Oteri of Springfield, VA. Calling hours will be Wednesday 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 at the Richard Davis Funeral Home, 373 Court Street Plymouth, MA. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 11am at the Richard Davis Funeral Home in Plymouth, MA. Burial will be in Massachusetts National Cemetery.
