Thomas X. Carroll, a cherished father, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 27, 2024, with his loving children at his side.
He is survived by his son, Travis Carroll, and his daughter, Lane Noel, as well as his brothers Timothy (Adair) Carroll and Daniel Carroll. Thomas was preceded in death by his father, Thomas L. Carroll; his mother, Natalie S. Carroll; and his sister, Doreen Zambudio Carroll.
A dedicated painter with Local 38, and a skilled cook for many years, Tommy lived a life marked by generosity and selflessness. He was known for his unwavering kindness, and was the kind of person who would give you the shirt off his back, even if it was the last one he had. His life was guided by two simple yet profound rules: If someone needs help, you help, and do something you enjoy every day
Tommy found immense joy in the company of his family and friends, and he took great pleasure in being out in the fields and streams. He will be deeply missed, but his spirit will be remembered fondly by all who knew him.
Tommy is now reunited with his huntin’, fishin’, and trappin’ buddies Sammy and Donny, in a place where he can continue to enjoy his passions.
In honor of Tommy, his family encourages everyone to cherish your children and to open your hearts to a stray cat, as he did so generously throughout his life.
Tommy’s memory will live on in the acts of kindness he inspired and the love he shared with those around him. He will be dearly missed but forever remembered for his big heart and unwavering spirit.
There will be no calling hours or services. A celebration of his life will be held at a time to be determined. Tommy’s arrangements are in the care of the Sugar Funeral Home, 224 W. 2nd. St. S. Fulton.
I worked with Tom years ago at Nine Mile 1 for years, got to know him and had a great time working with him.We talked about the Lord and that Jesus Christ was the way to heaven. Will be praying for his family,

Bones, thank you so much for being such a loyal friend to me for decades. You always knew how to get a smile on my face. Every time you went away anywhere you always came back with presents for me. You were always bringing me beautiful flowers to work on days I was struggling. You may have been small in size but you had a larger than life personality and heart. You loved your job, one of the best painters around these parts. You were so loved by so many and so missed. My condolences to Lane, Travis, Tim, Danny and the rest of the family. Fly high my beautiful friend. I love you always Tommy.
