Ronald K. Bishop, 66, of Oswego died Tuesday November 22, at St. Joseph Hospital, Syracuse. Mr. Bishop was born in Oswego and has been a lifetime resident. He is retired from the IBEW Local 328 –43, Oswego, Syracuse. Mr. Bishop served in the United States army during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Oswego VFW. He enjoyed the outdoors especially boating. Mr. Bishop was predeceased by his parents Kenneth and Gladys (Kent) Bishop. Mr. Bishop is survived by his children Laurie (Larry) Scott of Michigan, Timothy Bishop of Oswego, his sister Joan Gentile, and grandchildren Alicia and Richard. Funeral services will be conducted 10:00 AM Thursday at the Sugar & Scanlon Funeral Home, with Pastor Bruce Schrader. officiating. Spring burial will be held in the Oswego Town Rural Cemetery. Calling hours will be held 4:00 to 6:00 PM Wednesday at the Sugar & Scanlon Funeral Home, 147 W. 4th. St. Oswego.
Ron was my godfather. I haven’t seen him since I was 18, but I remember how comforting it was just to know he was there, even though we moved across the country when I was young. I regret that we didn’t have time to call him for a visit the last time we were in Oswego. My sympathies to his family.
I knew ron as a child my dad knew him on the cb we used to goto his camp in watson i knew him as tequilla his cb handle many memories were made i know he will be missed best wishes to all his familly and know he is in my thoughts i actually fixed the base station radio from his camp last yr it still works god bless.
