Richard James LaClaire, 76; of Granby passed away early Sunday morning at his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Fulton, NY to the late Peter and Margaret (D’Ambrose) LaClaire. Mr. LaClaire worked as an Auto Mechanic and a Commercial Truck Driver with Pepsi. He retired from Nestles, Co., Fulton after 32 years as a Laborer and Machinist. Mr. LaClaire had a passion for vehicles especially classic cars. He had a great sense of humor; a warm heart and he was loved and will be missed by many. Mr. LaClaire is survived by his wife of 22 years Carole LaClaire of Granby, 2 children: Richard (Yong) LaClaire II of Fulton, Michelle Everson of Scriba; 4 step-children: Dale Cook of Fulton, Craig (Laurie) Nelson of Fulton, Tracy (Mark) Clark of AZ, Kelly (David) LaClair of IN; his sister: Beverly (Larry) Parkhurst of Fulton; 16 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and several extended family members including nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was pre-deceased by 5 siblings: Peter LaClaire, George LaClaire, Dorothy Spiegel, Janet Hart, Patricia Erb and stepson: Frederick Nelson Jr. Mr. LaClaire’s wishes included a private funeral service and burial. There will be no calling hours. The Sugar Funeral Home, Inc., 224 W. 2nd St. S., Fulton has care of his arrangements.
