Rachel C. Morton, 79, of Fulton and more resent of Liverpool, died Monday July 31, 2017 in St. Joseph Hospital after a long illness. Mrs. Morton was born in Syracuse the daughter of the late Schuler and Leta (Baird) Cole. Mrs. Morton worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse at Andrew Michaud Nursing Home, Fulton, retiring in 2001 after thirty years. She was predeceased by her husband Douglas Morton, and their daughter Kathleen Morton Gristwood, and her sister Janice Crow. Mrs. Morton is survived by her children Naomi Somers of Syracuse, Karen ( T.J.) Stuber of Fulton, Judith (Paul) Altieri of PA, Robert Morton of Liverpool, and Linda Cougler of Liverpool, her grandchildren Christopher, Chad, Jennica, and Patrick, and great grandchildren, Gianna, Arianna, and Lennox. Mrs. Morton is also survived by her brother Harold (Jean) Cole of Fulton, and sister Sharon Criss of Baldwinsville. Funeral services will be conducted Friday August 4, 2017 at 9:30 AM in Holy Trinity Church, Fulton, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Joseph Scardella. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Calling hours will be Thursday August 3, 2017 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the Sugar Funeral Home Inc., 224 W. 2nd. St Fulton.
Dear Naomi, Bob, Judy, Karen and Linda,
Your mom had a way of making me laugh and the most favorite story and memory I have of her is when we attended a wedding in New Hampshire many years ago. Your mom and I showed up at the wedding wearing exactly the same dress. We laughed and laughed and laughed! My heart is saddened for all of you as you enter this difficult time. I send you my love and prayers and fond memories.
Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let the perpetual light shine upon her.
