Michael Wygant, 54,of 15 Orville Street, Oswego died Tuesday in University Hospital after a short illness. Mr. Wygant was born in Messena and has been a resident of Oswego most of his life. He was employed with Nestle for twenty nine years, and until his illness he has been working for the Oswego City School District at Fitzhugh Park School in the maintenance department. Mr. Wygant enjoyed fishing and playing his guitar. He is survived by his wife of ten years Karen (Waters) Wygant, of Oswego his parents Albert and Ruth (Bennett) Wygant of Oswego, his brother Steven (Nancy) Wygant of Oswego, sisters Susan (Donald) Crofoot of Martville, Diane (David) Ferris of Oswego and Peggy (Roderick) Longo of Phoenix, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday 9:30 from the Sugar & Scanlon Funeral Home and 10:00 a.m. in St. Paul’s Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Gaetano Baccaro. Burial will be in St. Paul’s Cemetery. Calling hours will be Friday 4:00 –7:00 p.m. at the funeral home 147 West Fourth Street Oswego.

I am so sorry for your loss. I am in shock, I was checking the weather up there an seen this, my heart is broken for you! He was a good man and friend to me years ago. I was just looking at your wedding pictures the other day and telling my husband about you two. The picture of you two in the handcuffs at the reception my favorite. 🙂 You are in my thoughts and prayers!
