Matthew J. Bush, 91, of West Seventh Street, Oswego died Thursday evening in the Oswego hospital after a short illness.  Mr. Bush was born in Oswego the son of the late Patrick and Evelyn (Puscuitta) Bush. He worked in the grocery business for over forty-four years as a produce manager at the A&P Grocery Store and Castrogiovanni’s Super Market. Mr. Bush served in the United States Army during World War II serving in the European Theater of Operations with the First Army. He was a member of the VFW Post #5885. He was a parishioner of St. Mary’s Parish where he was an usher for forty-two years, and he was involved in all the volunteer projects. Mr. Bush was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council # 227, and he was honored as 1990 Knight of the Year. Mr. Bush worked Bingo calling the numbers at St. Mary’s Church and for the Knights of Columbus. Mr. Bush enjoyed all sports especially golf and the NY Yankees. Mr. Bush was predeceased by his daughter Diane Falise April 16,2005, and his sister Margaret Alpert.  He is survived by his wife of sixty-four years Rose (Scaglione) Bush of Oswego, his son-in-law Michael Falise grandchildren Sarah (Michael) Masci and Matthew (Alexis) Falise, and great grandchildren Colin, Alexander, Harrison, and Josephine, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Monday 10:00 a.m. in St. Mary’s Church. Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery, Oswego. Calling hours will be Sunday 3:00 – 6:00 p.m. at the Sugar & Scanlon Funeral Home 147 West Fourth St. Oswego. In lieu of flowers the family request contributions be made to St. Mary’s Church Building Fund.
