Mary A. “Cha Cha” Laboda

Mary A. Laboda, 88; of Fulton went peacefully home to God Saturday evening, October 21st at Morningstar Care Center, Oswego, NY. She was born in Fulton to the late Nicholas and Anna (Wnuk) Laboda. Miss Laboda was a lifetime resident of Fulton. She retired from Armstrong after working as a secretary for 42 years. She was an active volunteer and communicant at Holy Family, St. Michael’s, and Holy Trinity Churches, Fulton. She served as a church school teacher, lector, Eucharist Minister, and First Communion Leader for several years. Miss Laboda was also a confirmation sponsor for many children and adults. She also enjoyed volunteering as a Church BINGO and Bazaar worker. Miss Laboda was always willing to help serve whenever or wherever she was needed. She had been a longtime member of the Holy Family Altar Rosary Society, Golden Agers, and Catholic Daughters Court Pere LeMoyne. She also volunteered at A.L. Lee Memorial Hospital. Miss Laboda was pre-deceased by her 9 siblings: Walter Laboda, Joseph Loboda, Bridget Presowitz, John Laboda, Josephine Narewski, Ralph Laboda, Delia Haidon, Stephen Laboda, and Stacia Laboda. Cha Cha is survived by many nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews and dear friends. Funeral Services will be held 11:30 AM Tuesday at Holy Trinity Church, Fulton where a mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Philip Brockmyre. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Fulton. Calling hours will be conducted 9:00 to 11:00 AM Tuesday in the Sugar Funeral Home, Inc., 224 W. 2nd St. S. Fulton, NY.
