Martin “Marty” Green, 73, of Oswego died Monday, August 14, 2023, at his home with his family by his side, after a long illness.
Marty was born in Oswego the son of the late Marshall and Barbara (Laird) Green. Marty worked for the Oswego City School District in the food service department. Marty enjoyed boating, fishing, riding his motorcycle, watching racing, and playing his guitar. He was a wonderful gardener where he would grow many vegetables. Marty was a family man that loved spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren. Marty and his wife Phyllis enjoyed wintering in Florida but always loved coming home to see everyone.
Marty is survived by his wife of 50 years Phyllis Spataro Green of Oswego and their children Amy (Edward) Varel of Rochester; Brian (Stephanie) Green of Oswego; grandchildren Abby, Emma, Adalynne, Amelia, Aubriella, Axton, and his brother Gregory Green of Camden.
Marty was predeceased by his brother David Green. Funeral services will be 9:00 AM Wednesday, August 23, 2023 at Peck Cemetery.
Calling hours will be Tuesday from 4:00 to 6:00 at the Sugar & Scanlon Funeral Home, 147 W. 4th. St. Oswego.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Donna, Jim, Kim, and Nicole for all the help they gave Phyllis and her family with Marty’s care.

Growing up just up the street, Marty was always kind to us neighborhood kids.
