Kermit “Shorty” Landphere

Kermit “Shorty” Landphere, 89; of Fulton went home to the Lord unexpectedly at his home.  He was born in Fulton, NY to the late Ernest and Mamie (Cronk) Landphere. His grandparents the late William and Abbie Mae Landphere raised him after his parents passed away.  Mr. Landphere grew up in Pulaski and he has been a resident of Fulton for most of his life.  He was a WWII Veteran having served in the US Army from 1942 to 1945 as a Medical Technician.  Mr. Landphere was honored with the following medals:  American Service Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, and the World War II Victory Medal.  Mr. Landphere retired from Sealright Co. November 31, 1984 were he worked as a Mechanic.   He was pre-deceased by his wife Cathryne Landphere in 1994.  He is survived by his 4 stepchildren:  Mary Guyette (Ernest) VanDeLinder of FL., Jane Hennessey of Baldwinsville, NY, Nancy (Adam) Urbanik of Fair Haven, NY and Barbara Saucer of Richland, NY, several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.  Graveside Memorial Services will be held 10:00 AM, Monday, November 24th at Daysville Cemetery, State Route 3, where the Fulton VFW Post #569 Honor Guard will bestow military honors.  There will be no calling hours.  The Sugar Funeral Home, Inc., 224 W. 2nd St. S. Fulton has care of the arrangements.  Contributions may be made to the Fulton VFW Post #569, 216-218 Cayuga St. Fulton, NY 13069.
