John H. Klefbeck Sr., 74, of West Third Street, Oswego died Sunday, March 8th at his home after a brief illness. Mr. Klefbeck was born in Oswego the son of the late Nelson and Barbara Klefbeck. He has been a resident of Oswego for the past forty-one years. Mr. Klefbeck served in the United States Navy and Coast Guard. He worked for the Chicago Transfer Authority, Columbia Mills and later was a member of the Laborers Local #214 were he worked until his retirement. Mr. Klefbeck was a former member of the Lavere-Harrington Post 2320. He was predeceased by his wife Olivia Klefbeck in 1999. Mr. Klefbeck is survived by his son John (Kathy) Klefbeck Jr. of Oswego, daughters Linda (Jerry) Falada of Arizona, Barbara (Jay) Stinnett of Texas and Deborah (Chris) Harrington of Oswego. In addition to his children he is survived by seven grandchildren Jerry Falada, Nicole, Falada, Joshua Harrington, Dylan Harrington, Brian Klefbeck, Jesse Klefbeck, Bradford Snow, and one great grandchild Dylan Klefbeck. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday 9:30 a.m. at the Sugar & Scanlon Funeral Home with Rev. Bruce Schrader. Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery, Oswego. Calling hours will be Wednesday 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home 147 West Fourth Street, Oswego.
