Herman Grover Coant Jr., 87; of Fulton, NY passed Saturday, December 21st, 2024, at the Veteran Administration Hospital, Syracuse, NY. He was born in Fulton, NY in 1937 to the late Marion (Drice) and Herman G. Coant Sr. Herman was a United States Veteran having served in the Marine Corp during the Korean War from 1954 to 1957. “Semper Fi.” He was a lifetime member of the Fulton VFW Post #569. Hermie’s passion was going to OTB to place a bet on the ponies and to frequent the local watering holes. He was a painter by trade and over several decades his talents would have been found on several Fulton buildings and homes.
Herman was pre-deceased by his children: Terry L. Coant in 2014, and Kathy L. Coant in 2020; his siblings: Betty Hayle in 2018, Gertrude Dann in 2022 and Kenneth Coant Sr.in 2012 and his ex-wife Carol Coant.
Hermie is survived by his children: Michael Coant of FL, John Coant of PA and Lorrie Coant of Fulton and his niece and caregiver: Mary Ann Hayle of Fulton.
There will be no Funeral Service or Calling Hours.
Burial will be held privately.
