Frances Izyk Cernaro, 80, of Oswego, died Wednesday March 6, 2024 in St. Joseph Hospital after a short illness.
Fran was born and remained a lifelong resident of Oswego, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Mazie (Foley) Izyk. She loved being a homemaker taking great pride and caring of her husband and their children. Fran was a wonderful baker and she was known by many for her delicious baking especially her cookies. She enjoyed spending time gardening and reading. She will be forever missed by her family.
Fran is survived by her husband Joseph Cernaro, of Oswego, and their children Patricia (Ronald) Gunther of Oswego, Joseph (Lisa) Cernaro of GA, grandchildren Nikolas, Joseph, Lauryn, Kourtney, Lacy and great grandson Zane. Fran is also survived by her brother Edward (Joan) Izyk of Oswego, sister Elaine (William) Chillson of Oswego, and her nieces and nephews.
Fran was predeceased by her brothers William, Thomas and Michael Izyk.
Calling hours will be Friday May 31, 2024 from 11:00 to 12:00 noon with a 12:00 Noon service with Rev. John Canorro at the Sugar & Scanlon Funeral Home, 147 W. 4th St. Oswego, NY.
