Elizabeth A. Ponzi, 62 of Oswego died Sunday October 6, 2013 at St. Luke Health Services, Oswego after a long illness. She was born in Oswego the daughter of the late Joseph and Corrine (Whitney) Paternoster. She enjoyed Bingo, crocheting, karaoke, reading Harle Quin books and spending time with her grandchildren. Elizabeth worked as an in-service coordinator and CNA instructor at St. Luke’s Health Sevices for many years, and she was also a registered nurse at Pontiac Nursing Home for 23 years. She is survived by her children Joseph C. Ponzi of Fulton, Angela M. LaQuire and Bobbie Jo Ponzi both of Oswego, her brothers William Paternoster, John (Jean) Peternoster, and Robert (Betty) Paternoster, all of Oswego, sisters Laura (Jerry) Burnett of Fulton, and Marcella (John) Gibson of Oswego, grandchildren Felecia (Paul) Reed and Jacob Ponzi, great grandchild Natalie Reed and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents Elizabeth was predeceased by her brothers Charles and Ernest Paternoster, and son-in-law Timothy LaQuire. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday 7:00 p.m. at the Sugar & Scanlon Funeral Home, Oswego. Calling hours will be prior to the services Thursday 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home 147 W. 4th. St. Oswego.

Liz, will be dearly missed by many. She will be remembered by all. RIP Liz!! You were a wonderful instructor and person, Heaven has gotten an angel.

I went through school with Elizabeth, and she was always a kind and sweet friend.
