Donald Somers
Donald Somers, 65; of Cicero, NY passed suddenly at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Syracuse, NY. Don was born in Fulton, NY to the late Joseph and Betty (France) Somers. He had been a lifetime resident of Fulton until recently moving to Cicero, NY. Don was retired from Fayetteville Dodge, Fayetteville, NY where he had worked for several years. He loved nature. Don was an avid outdoorsman having enjoyed hiking, fishing, and foraging. He especially liked bird watching.
Don is survived by his siblings: Joni (Chris) Locke of Marietta, NY; William Somers of Fulton, NY; Pam (Michael) Puterbaugh of Fulton, NY; Richard Somers of NC, and Joseph L. Somers of Cicero, NY and several nieces and nephews.
A Graveside Service will be held in the spring at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
Calling Hours will be conducted 6:00 to 8:00 PM Friday at the Sugar Funeral Home Inc., 224 W. 2nd St. S., Fulton. Face Masks and 50% Capacity Limit will apply in adherence with NYS Mandates.
Donnie, Your the most loved man I know. I will miss you and hold our memories until we meet again. I’ll bring the R&R.
I’m so sorry for your loss. I didn’t know Don well, but the few times I was around him, he was smart, funny, enjoyable, and family-oriented. I know that he is the company of many fellow birdwatchers who have a special place in the arms of God.
