Linda L. Compson, 80; of Fulton, NY passed peacefully at Seneca Hill Manor, Volney, NY Wednesday, April 1st, 2026, after a lengthy illness. Linda was born in Bridgeport, NY to the late Leslie (Janet) Cole and Jeanette Stowell. She had been a resident of Fulton, NY for 30+ years until 2024 when she and her husband moved to Springside at Seneca Hill, Volney, NY. Linda was past employed at Nine Mile, Scriba, NY; Sollecito’s Landscape & Garden Center, Syracuse; as an Office Manager and with Prudential Insurance, Syracuse; as an Auditor. She was past member of the Cody VFD Auxiliary, Syracuse Executives and Fulton Chamber of Commerce. In her younger years, Linda enjoyed duck hunting, fishing and snowmobiling. She also liked camping and traveling. Linda was known for being an accomplished seamstress, crafter, and gardener. She had a flare to complete all things in a classic way whether it was a clothes outfit, dining room table, landscaped grounds or interior décor.
Linda was pre-deceased by her grandparents: Victor and Julia Dean, her siblings: Patricia Purtee, Dennis Kersey and Raymond Northrup.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 64 years and tireless caregiver: William V. Compson Jr., of Volney, NY; their 4 sons: Jeffrey (Valerie) Compson Sr., of Amarillo, TX; Scott (Natasha Zody) Compson of Hannibal, NY; Timothy (Laura Riesel) Compson of Sylvan Beach, NY and Michael (Laurie Sugar) Compson of Volney, NY; their grandchildren: Jeffrey (Alexa) Compson Jr., Michael (Fatima) Compson, Jasper Compson, Nicholas (Jamie) Compson, Joseph Compson, Cooper Compson, William Compson, Delilah Compson, Timothy (Jessie) Compson Jr., Christopher (Rachel) Compson, Chandler (Sierra) Compson, Zachary Compson, Julia Compson, Brandon Compson, Blake Compson, Alexa (Timothy) Compson-DeForest, and Joshua Michael (Calinda Ceterski) Compson; her brother-in-law: Dean Purtee of FL, sister-in-law: Rena Kersey and several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Calling Hours will be conducted from 10 AM to Noon Saturday at the Sugar Funeral Home Inc., 224 W. 2nd St. S., Fulton, NY.
The Funeral Service will immediately follow in the funeral home at Noon with Rev. Linda Harris officiating.
Burial will be held privately in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Fulton, NY.
