
Lauren A. Comerford, 59, of Scriba passed away unexpectedly on Thursday January 16, 2025.
Lauren was born in Oswego the daughter of Walter “Pat” McCracken of Oswego and the late Lucy McCracken. From a young age, Lauren established on a promising career in real estate, founding Comerford Realty. For years, she found joy in assisting families in Oswego in discovering their ideal homes. A family member referring to her as a “Jane of All Trades”, Lauren expanded and transitioned into a role as a project facilitator for Constellation Energy and Exelon. During their later time together with life partner, Joe, Lauren devoted herself to the pursuit of their dreams to create a family-owned restaurant with their children. Although life took unexpected turns, Lauren gained recognition and celebrated often for her giftedness with cooking. She poured her love into every meal prepared with the belief that each meal would nurture those in need, now a reminiscent for all who enjoyed. Lauren navigated her life with unwavering strength that allowed her to shoulder everything with grace. Her intentions were rooted in compassion, providing the support her family always needed. As the heart and soul of her household, she always created an environment defined by love, empathy, and compassion. Day in and day out she always made the best out of life for herself and her loved ones. Time spent outdoors with her sons involved nurturing her flowers, working the garden, and caring for her chickens. Many nights she gathered at home with her daughters and grandchildren, sharing stories and reflecting on their many blessings. Evenings appreciating classic black-and-white films savoring a glass of Merlot alongside her loyal companion, Josie. A true appreciative of the art and beauty in life. Her dining table filled with the warmth of friends and family, where laughter and lively conversations created the atmosphere, she loved so much. This forever will be the essence of Lauren, a force that remains with us all. One of her most significant and recent achievements was the devoted care she provided for her life partner, Joe, remaining by his side until his final breath. Her legacy is marked by the profound impact she had on those around her, and one that will be cherished close and never forgotten.
Lauren was predeceased by her life partner Joseph P. Ferlito, her mother Lucy McCracken, her granddaughter Gianna Comerford, sister Anna Kozel and son-in-law Rocky Crucitti II.
She is survived by her eternal loving children Shane Comerford of Oswego, Ian Comerford (Amanda Learned) of Oswego, Kelcey Comerford of Oswego, Alexis “Lexie” (Zachery Coe) Ferlito of Oswego and her father Walter “Pat” McCracken of Oswego. Lauren is also survived by her beloved grandchildren Aubree Pelow, Carter Comerford, Frances Comerford, Brielle Crucitti, Skylar Crucitti, Penelope Coe, Charlotte Coe, and her siblings Terri Burns of Oswego, Rosalia Kozel of Oswego, Mike McCracken of Liverpool, Jeff McCracken of Oswego, as well as aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Calling hours for Lauren will be Friday January 24, 2025 from 3:00 to 5:00 PM at the Sugar & Scanlon Funeral Home 147 W. 4th. St. Oswego.
Following the calling hours there will be a Celebration of Life beginning at 5:30 at Birdie Manor, 1830 Bridie Square, Oswego NY.
