Rose Pauldine

Rose A. Pauldine, 87, a resident Pontiac Terrace Apartments, Oswego died from complications of surgery at St. Joseph Hospital in Syracuse and re-joined her beloved husband “Mickey: with the Lord on December 3, 2008.  Rose was born on April 18, 1921 to the late Michael Abraham and Mary Mody Abraham. She worked as a bookkeeper for Massaro Inc. until she married Michael J. Pauldine. She lovingly dedicated herself to raising her family and forming the strongest of bonds with her children, while standing side by side with and supporting her devoted husband until his death. Rose was truly an ambassador of joy, friendship and compassion to everyone she met, wherever she went, throughout her entire life and all of the world loved her as she brought kindness and happiness to all during her heartfelt miles-long walking treks through her community and the entire country. Rose is survived by her devoted children John (Nancy) Pauldine, Ann (Kenneth) Stevens, Patricia (Thomas) Coloton, RoseMary (Paul) Scullin all of Oswego, and James (fiancée Judy Rebeor) Pauldine of Fulton, and one brother Joseph (Julie) Abraham of Fulton. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased in death by her sister Jenny Healey and brother George Abraham. Rose loved to revel in life as she moved into her retirement. She traveled the entire United States while visiting family and friends, and enjoyed dedicated trips throughout the South and the west. She also enjoyed motorcycling on friends Harley-Davidsons a hobby she took up in her 70’s!  She will be truly missed by all who knew her kind heart and gentle ways, but especially by her worshipping family who also experienced and appreciated her feisty side. Funeral services will be conducted Monday 10:00 a.m. in St. Mary Church. Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery, Oswego. Calling hours will be Sunday 1:00 – 5:00 p.m. at the Sugar & Scanlon Funeral Home 147 West Fourth Street, Oswego.
