Arlene Slocum DiBello

Arlene Slocum DiBello, 93; passed away peacefully at St. Luke Health Services, Oswego.  Mrs. DiBello was born in Weedsport, NY to the late Henry and Eva (Hewitt) Slocum.  She had been a longtime resident of Hannibal for 54 years and Oswego for 16 years.  Mrs. DiBello worked as a Drapery Seamstress with Buell’s Draperies, Fulton, NY and Julia’s Draperies, Hannibal, NY.  She was also a co-founder of Furdi’s Homes, Fulton, NY and retired in 2000.  Mrs. DiBello was a past president of the Hannibal Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.  She was an avid reader, gardener, accomplished seamstress and remodeler of houses.  Mrs. DiBello was pre-deceased by her husband Leon DiBello in 2012, her brother Henry Chester Slocum, and her sister-in-law Frances Walker Slocum.  Mrs. DiBello is survived by her 2 daughters:  Lee DiBello Furlong of Oswego, NY; Judy DiBello of Howell, MI; her companion Joseph Familo; 3 grandsons:  Patrick (Victoria) Furlong Jr., Gregory (Meredith) Furlong both of Oswego, NY; Daniel (Tricia) DiBello of Howell, MI; 8 great-granddaughters and several nieces and nephews.  Funeral Services and Burial will be held privately.  There will be no calling hours.  The Sugar Funeral Home Inc., 224 W. 2nd St. S., Fulton has care of the arrangements.
