Thomas Gentile
Thomas Gentile, 87, of Oswego died peacefully at his home with his loving family by his side, on Saturday, January 16, 2021. Mr. Gentile was born in Oswego the son of the late John and Jane (DeSantis) Gentile. He retired from the Boilermakers Local #175 where he held the positions of Business Manager, Business Agent and International Representative. Mr. Gentile served in the United States Army during the Korean War from 1953 until 1955. He was a communicate of St. Joseph’s Church. Tom was devoted to his family and traveled throughout the country to be present for family events. In his words, “Family is everything.” Mr. Gentile is survived by his wife of 68 years Patricia (Murray) Gentile of Oswego, their children Michael (Bobette) Gentile of MI., Teresa (Leon) Smith of Volney, Kevin (Traci) Gentile of VA, Daniel (Teresa) Gentile of Oswego Dianne Gentile- Motyka of Oswego, Janine Gentile of CO, 19 grandchildren 24 great grandchildren, and 6 nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers Bartholomew and Melvin Gentile. God Bless America! Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday 10:00AM at CTGS at St. Joseph’s Church, Oswego, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery. Tom’s family will be greeting family and friends Wednesday morning from 9:30 until 10:00 at CTGS at St. Joseph Church prior to the mass. The Sugar & Scanlon Funeral Home 147 W. 4th. St. Oswego, is in care of the arrangements. Anyone attending the Mass need to calls CTGS at 315-343-2333, and Facial Masks are required, or you may watch the virtual services through Christ the Good Shepherd Facebook site.

I really enjoyed meeting and getting to know Tom at family cook outs with our friends Terry and Butch over the years we lived in New York He will be missed by our family as well

Pat, I’m so sorry about the loss of dear, sweet Tom. I have enjoy his company and his smile for so many years. I’m sorry I’m out of town for the funeral. Tom, you will be missed.

Pat and family, we are so sorry to hear about Tom’s passing. He was a great man and neighbor. He will be sorely missed, we loved when Pat would leave for a little while and he would bring out the ladder and do something he shouldn’t be doing. Then hurry to put the ladder back before she got home.
