Katherine Losurdo Mazzoli, 85, of Johnson Road, Oswego died Thursday July 2, 2020 peacefully at her home with her daughter by her side. She was born in Oswego the daughter of the late Peter and Catherine (Ponto) Losurdo. Katherine was a former employee of the Oswego County Savings Bank, New York Telephone Co, and she retired from the Oswego Hospital where she worked as a switchboard operator and in the admitting department. She was a communicant of St. Joseph Church. Katherine’s most beloved time of her life, after raising her own children, was being with her wonderful grandchildren Christie and Wesley. From sleepovers to pudding parties, her grandchildren were everything. She also never missed the opportunity to play games on her iPad or watch Criminal Minds with her daughter. Katherine was predeceased by her husband Frank Mazzoli October 18, 2015, and her siblings Joseph, Anthony, Samuel, and Peter Losurdo, Maryrose Losurdo, Jane Losurdo, Maizie Losurdo, Grace Turner, and Nataleen Ferlito. She is survived by her children Diane Jones of Oswego, and Frank Mazzoli Jr. of CA, grandchildren Christie Jones of Oswego and Wesley Jones of Rochester. Graveside services will be Tuesday 12 noon at St. Peter’s Cemetery with Rev. John Canorro. The arrangements are in the care of the Sugar & Scanlon Funeral Home 147 W. 4th. St. Oswego.
Dear Diane and Frank,
So sorry to learn of your mom’s passing. “Aunt Kay” was such a delightful woman, and she and your dad will always hold a place in my heart. Always considered our families as one through the years. I’m sure your wonderful memories will sustain you in your loss.
