Michael “Bumpa” Jessmore, 68; formerly of Fulton, NY passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 10,th at his St. Petersburg, FL., home with his family at his bedside after a long illness, leaving behind his wife Linda of 48 years along with 5 daughters: Teri (Dale) Christensen of Hawaii, Mary Beth (David) Crouch of Clearwater, FL, Michelle (Kevin) LaFave of Palm Harbor, FL. Mollie (Frank) Renee of Fulton, NY and Monique Jessmore of St. Petersburg, FL. He is also survived by 3 siblings, 9 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren. Mr. Jessmore was pre-deceased by his brother John Jessmore. Michael was born in Fulton, NY on April 23, 1946 to the late Harold and Frances Jessmore. After graduating high school he was employed by Riverside Dairy, Fulton delivering milk to homes and local grocery stores. In 1968 he joined the Local #38 Painters & Allied Trades, Oswego, NY and served as vice president. In 1988 he and his wife moved to Kissimmee, FL where he worked at Disney World with Local #1010 where he also served as past president. During his time in Florida he spearheaded many volunteer efforts including organizing volunteers to paint at “Give Kids the World,” Orlando and he travelled to Atlanta, GA to help beautify the city by painting some run down areas before the 1996 Atlanta Olympics. His efforts and hard work were nationally recognized when he was presented with the Presidential Award in Washington, D.C. Michael retired from Disney in 2000 and returned to Fulton, NY where he continued his volunteering with the help of his friends by painting buildings at Camp Hollis where he also served on the board. When his grandchildren were involved in Pop Warner he tried to help maintain the facilities by painting the bleachers, snack bars, and goal posts with his son-in-law David Crouch. Michael loved traveling, spending time with his family, and traveling with the family in a caravan of cars with him in the lead. Michael also loved to golf and was well known for his sense of humor and quick wit. He was never short on jokes or making people laugh. Funeral service will be held Tuesday at 9:30 AM in Holy Trinity Church where a mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Jerome Amaechi. Burial will be held privately. Calling hours will be conducted Monday from 3:00 to 6:00 PM at the Sugar Funeral Home, Inc. 224 W. 2nd St. S. Fulton.

Bump, you were seriously the best dad figure in my life, i will never forget all the times you took me to my orthodontists appointments and got me dunkin donuts after, or how you would order pizza when I was having a bad at school. I loved helping you anyway i could before you passed away either if i was carrying your pillows in to the bedroom, pouring water into your oxygen tank, daddy daughter dances for girl scouts, or simply kissing your bald head goodnight. I always loved coming home from school and hearing a “HI HAY!” I am very very grateful that I got to be part of you life and i will never forget you or the fun times we had. i love you so much mt sweet Bump and you always told me not to cry, i’m not crying i am sad that you are gone but happy you’re not suffering or dont need oxygen, or huffing, puffing, or getting short of breath from walking to one room to another. You are up in heaven right now looking down on loved ones and are my gaurdin angel, i love you, and rest in so much peace. there is not a day i dont think about you! <3
