Rita A. Scott

Rita A. Scott, 91; of Oswego died Saturday morning April 21, in the Oswego Hospital. Mrs. Scott was born in Oswego the daughter of the late Gaetano and Mary Louise (Gentile) DePasquale. Mrs. Scott was a former employee of Breneman Hartshorn, and she worked as an LPN at the Oswego Hospital. Mrs. Scott was a communicant of St. Joseph Church, where she sang in the choir from 1949 until 2003, when she began singing in St. Joseph’s and St. Mary’s Churches Resurrection Choir . Mrs. Scott was a member and enjoyed traveling with St. Joseph Golden Age Group, she was a member of the Columbiette Council #227, and received the honor of 1998 Columbiette of the Year. Mrs. Scott was predeceased by her husband John Scott in 1958, and her sisters Catherine Butler, Mary DePasquale and Helen Morgan. Mrs. Scott is survived by her son Thomas (Laurel) Scott of Annapolis, MD, her brother Peter DePasquale of PA, grandchildren Melissa, Christopher, Rebecca, and great grandsons Christopher and Joshua. Funeral Services will be held Friday 8:30 a.m. from the Sugar & Scanlon Funeral Home and 9:00 am at St. Joseph’s Church, where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated by Rev. Gregory Kreinheder. Burial will be in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Oswego. Calling hours will be conducted 4:00 to 7:00 pm Thursday at the Sugar & Scanlon Funeral Home 147 West Fourth Street, Oswego. In lieu of flowers friends are asked to make contributions in honor of Mrs. Scott to, Pathfinder Village, 3Chenango Road, Edmeston, NY 13335.
