Wayne Rowland, 77; of Silk Rd., Fulton, NY lost his battle with Cancer Wednesday, June 11, 2008 at the home of his daughter and son-in-law Cassandra and David Thorpe, Cato, NY. He was born April 11, 1931 to the late Riva and Dorthea Rowland in Kirksville, Missouri. Wayne had been living in Fulton, NY for about 4 years. He retired as a Mechanic from the Village Green Chevron in Cottage Grove, Oregon. Wayne was one of the best mechanics according to his clients. He was the type of man who gave so much and asked for nothing in return. He loved his family and friends and he would have done anything for them without hesitation. Wayne’s time on earth will be cherished by those who knew him, as he tended to leave it a better place than it was. He is survived by his 5 children: Billy Rowland, Robert Rowland, Cassandra Thorpe, Dwayne King and Chris Rowland, 7 grandchildren: Angela, David Jr., Cody, Shaughnessey, Katelyn, Colton and Kyle, 1 great granddaughter: Jessica and 1 great grandson: David III, 2 sister Carmilla Kauzlorich and Rivetta Veldman. There will be no calling hours or funeral service at Wayne’s request. If you care to give a gift in his memory, give it to someone who is in true need…surprise them and say “Wayne Sent Me.” This world is in great need of strong love and unending good and kind acts. Never hesitate to show you heart in the midst of trouble, just like Wayne. The Sugar Funeral Home, Inc., 224 W. 2nd St. S. Fulton, NY 13069 has care of the arrangements.
