Walter W. Blauvelt

Walter W. Blauvelt, 83; of Dutch Ridge Rd. Oswego died Saturday at Seneca Hill Manor, Volney, NY. He was born in North Rose, NY and he has been a resident of Scriba for 20 years.  Mr. Blauvelt retired from Nestles, Fulton after 43 years.  He was a US Veteran having served during WWII in the Army Corp. of Engineers.  He was a part of the Battle of the Bulge and the 3rd wave of Normandy.  Mr. Blauvelt was a SCUBA Diver for the Oswego County Sheriff’s Dept. and he was the founding member of the Oswego Valley Model Aires Club.  He was pre-deceased by his wife Amelia Blauvelt in 2006 and his son Hope Blauvelt in 1996.  He is survived by his daughter Ida Peacock of Phoenix, AZ, his sons Faith Blauvelt of Hannibal, and Fay (Patti) Blauvelt of Oswego, 16 grandchildren, and several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.  Funeral Services will be private.  Graveside Memorial Services will be held in the spring at Victory Cemetery, Victory, NY at the convenience of the family.  There will be no calling hours.  The Sugar Funeral Home, Inc., 224 W. 2nd St. S. Fulton has care of the arrangements.
