Virginia Giambo

Virginia Giambo, 96, of Liberty Street, Oswego died Sunday evening in St. Luke Health Services. She was born in Italy and has been a resident of Oswego for most of her life. Mrs. Giambo worked for the Diamond Match Factory in Oswego, Marathon Paper, Papertronics, and the Candy Works of Oswego. Mrs. Giambo was a communicant of St. Joseph Church and a member of the St. Anne’s Society, and the Dante Alghieri Auxiliary, and the McCorbie Senior Citizen Group. Mrs. Giambo was predeceased by her husband Anthony Giambo in 1984, her daughter Antoinette Giambo in 1987, her grandson Thomas Giambo, and great grandson Philip Giambo. Mrs. Giambo is survived by her sons Samuel Giambo of Oswego, Joseph (Mary Anne ) Giambo of Altamont, NY, Thomas (Judy) Giambo of South Carolina, eleven grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Friday 10:00 a.m. in St. Joseph Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Andrew Baranski. Burial will be in All Saints Mausoleum, Oswego. There will be no calling hours. The arrangements are in the care of the Sugar and Scanlon Funeral Home 147 West Fourth Street, Oswego.
