Vincent J. Malerba, 74, of Birch Lane, Oswego died Wednesday morning in University Hospital, Syracuse. Mr. Malerba was born in Syracuse and has been a resident of the Scriba – Oswego area for the past four years. Mr. Malerba was a cement mason for Local #519, Syracuse. He worked many years for Niagara Mohawk of Syracuse. Mr. Malerba was a member of the Elbridge and Liverpool Rod & Gun Club and the Leatherstocking Club. He is survived by his wife Mary Ann Malerba of Oswego, his son Michael Malerba of CA, and five daughters Catherine (Monty) Moss of IN, Christine (George) Soderlund of Lacona, Mary Jo (Tom) Torrick of Eastwood, Angela Somers of N. Syracuse and Andrea Malerba of CA. He is also survived by his brother Gerald (Mary) Malerba of Cicero, and seven grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday 9:00 a.m. in the Reformed Presbyterian Church, Oswego. Burial will be in Peck Cemetery. Calling hours will be Friday 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. at the Sugar and Scanlon Funeral Home 147 West Fourth St. Oswego.
Vince was my Dad Tony Iozzia’s best friend and they made themselves blood brothers. In fact, as I was going through my Dad’s handmade tool box I found Vince’s memorial card and saw that he passed away on my Dad’s birthdate
They were definitely brothers ❤️
