Thomas Edward Scruton Sr., 57; of Fulton died Friday at University Hospital after a short illness. He was born to the late Walter and Margaret (Weber) Scruton in Oswego, NY. He was a formerly of Hannibal and he has been a resident of Fulton for 7 years. Mr. Scruton was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a United States Veteran having served in the Navy during the Vietnam War. Mr. Scruton was pre-deceased by his brothers Carl L. Scruton, and Gary Scruton, and his sisters Joyce Scruton and Cheri Scruton. He is survived by his children: Thomas Edward Scruton Jr. of Oswego, Teresa Scruton of Oswego, his finance Linda McCann of Fulton, stepchildren: Lynette Knudsen, Billy Jo Knudsen, Heather Knudsen, and Amanda Knudsen, 6 siblings: Walter Scruton of Oswego, Connie Scruton of Oswego, Dawn Greenleaf of Hannibal, Kathy Scanlon of Hannibal, Jack Scruton of Hannibal, Betty Jo Dumas of Granby, 2 grandsons: Brandon Scruton and Dustin Davis, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services and burial will be private. There will be no calling hours. Sugar Funeral Home, Inc., 224 W. 2nd St. S. Fulton has care of the arrangements.

  1. My brother, Tom, was loved by many. He had a kind heart and a quick wit. He made people smile. Tom will miss him…..and remembered.

  2. Tom was a free spirit, who loved to wander over hill and dale. He had such a strong love for animals, wild and tame. He had a gentle heart and a loving spirit. We will miss him, always. God Bless Our Tom.
