Samuel Tesoriero, 84; of Oswego, NY passed away Monday at Crouse Hospital, Syracuse. He was born in Oswego, NY to the late James and Sarah (Corso) Tesoriero. Mr. Tesoriero was a United States Veteran having served in the Army during the Korean War. He studied for 3 years in the seminary and later graduated from the State University of New York College at Oswego with a Bachelor Degree. He worked for years as a Teacher in the following school districts: Solvay, NY; Frankfort, NY; Westmoreland, NY; and Kingston, NY. In his younger years Mr. Tesoriero enjoyed acting and boxing. He also enjoyed playing softball in the Oswego Softball Leagues. Mr. Tesoriero was a devoted and self-appointed caretaker for two of his widowed sisters for several years. Mr. Tesoriero is survived by his brother James B. “Terry” Tesoriero of Oswego, and his sister Ida Godkin of Norwich, NY, and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Tesoriero was pre-deceased by his siblings: Catherine “Lena,” John, Frances, Anthony, Ann, Mary, Theresa, Virginia, Sarah, and Margaret. Funeral Services will be held Monday at 10:00 AM from the Sugar & Scanlon Funeral Home and 10:30 AM at St. Joseph’s Church where a mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Greg Kreinheder. Burial will be held privately. Calling hours will be conducted Monday from 9:00 to 10:00 AM at the Sugar & Scanlon Funeral Home, 147 West 4th St. Oswego, NY.
