Sam J. Patane, 86, of Hannibal died Tuesday in St. Joseph’s Hospital after a long illness. He was born in East Syracuse the son of the late Vincenzo and Rosa Patane. Mr. Patane owned Par-K Enterprises in Fulton, Patane Insurance of Hannibal and Patane Farms in Hannibal. He was a Hannibal Volunteer Firefighter. Mr. Patane was predeceased by his first wife Rita Patane in 1991, his brothers Jim Patane, Myron Patane, and sister Mary Barone. Mr. Patane is survived by his wife of fifteen years Mary Patane of Hannibal, his sons Sam (Valerie) Patane of Hannibal, and Richard Patane of Fulton, his brother Frank Patane of Hannibal, two sisters Eleanor Malone of Hannibal, and Agnes Barone of Cicero. Mr. Patane is survived by two grandsons David Patane and Michael (Carrie) Patane, and his great grandchild Teigen Patane. Mr. Patane is also survived by his stepchildren Beth Anne Widrick, Michelle Shutts, Bradley Griffin, Carmen Griffin, Brian Griffin, and several grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Funeral services and burial will be private. There will be no calling hours. Contributions may be made in Sam’s name to the American Diabetes 356 N. Midler Ave, Syracuse 13206.
