Ruth Jacquette Keefe, of Oswego died Monday in the Oswego Hospital after a long illness. Mrs. Keefe was born in Oswego the daughter of the late Henry and Dorothy (Singleton) Jacquette, and she has been a resident of Oswego for most of her life. Mrs. Keefe graduated from St. John’s School, Oswego and Oswego High School before graduating from Oswego Normal School, and attending the New York University School of Education where she received her B. S. and M.A. Degrees. She retired from teaching in the New York City Public Schools, after teaching for more than thirty years. She was a life member of the Oswego Country Club. Mrs. Keefe was predeceased by husband Ward Keefe, and her sister Dorothy Jacquette Buskey. She is survived by her nephew Daniel R. Buskey of Iowa City, IA, and her niece Linda Buskey LeBlanc of Marstons Mills, MA., and her cousins Helen and Barbara Schilling of Oswego. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday 10:00 a.m. in St. Mary’s Church, Oswego where a Requiem Mass will be celebrated by Rev. Stephen Wirkes. Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery. Calling hours will be Wednesday morning 8:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. at the Sugar and Scanlon Funeral Home, 147 West Fourth Street, Oswego, prior to the Mass.
