Rita M. Mentes passed away surrounded by her loving family at St. Luke Health Services on Thursday, February 20, 2014.
She was a Cohoes, NY, native, and the daughter of the late Henry Bouleris and Elizabeth (LaPlante) Bouleris. She spent most of her adult life in the Syracuse and Fair Haven area. Over the years, she worked at Syracuse Pottery, Syroco, her husband’s business, and Cato Show Print. She was predeceased by her husband Imre Mentes, parents, two sisters, and seven brothers. She is survived by two daughters, Debbie (John) Sugar and Jill (Robert) Flack; four grandchildren, Jaclyn (Josh Blanchard) Sherman, Stephanie Sherman, Justin Sherman, and Janelle Flack; “adopted” grandson, Ron Ingison; and two great-grandchildren, Hailey Sherman and Alison Sherman-Green.
No public services will be held. A private celebration of Rita’s life will be held for immediate family only.
