Rita Finocchiaro

Rita Finocchiaro, 95; formerly of West 1st St. Fulton died Saturday at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Syracuse. She was born in Brooklyn, NY to the late Anthony and Anna (Dice) Ammann. Mrs. Finocchiaro has been a resident of Fulton since 1932. She was a past member of the Holy Family Altar Rosary Society, Golden Agers Group, and lifetime member of Catholic Daughters Court Pere LeMoyne #833. In the 1930’s Mr. and Mrs. Finocchiaro were members of the Holy Family founding commission to establish the Holy Family Parish. Mrs. Finocchiaro was pre-deceased by her husband John M. Finocchiaro in 1990, and her daughter Linda Cline in 1992. She is survived by her children: Janet (Joseph) Sczupak, John “Jack” (Betty) Finocchiaro, and William “Bill” (Pam) Finocchiaro all of Fulton, 6 grandchildren: Peter Sczupak, Robert Sczupak, Kelley Cline, Katie Schnall, Sarah Finocchiaro McGraw, and Laura Finocchiaro, 6 great grandchildren: Margaret Sczupak, Wesley and Uma Sczupak, Ethan Frank, Juliet Schnall, Christian Cline Wolszczack and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held 10:00 AM Wednesday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, Minetto where a mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Robert Stephenson. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Fulton. Calling hours will be conducted 4:00 to 7:00 PM Tuesday at the Sugar Funeral Home, Inc., 224 W. 2nd St. S. Fulton.
