Richard M. Burr, 78; of Phoenix, NY died Thursday at Oswego Hospital after a short illness. He was born in Loweville, NY to the late Richard and Rachel (Leaf) Burr. He has been a resident of Phoenix, NY for 60 years. Mr. Burr retired from Nestles Co., Fulton after 48 years of service. He loved to work at the Brewerton Races, Brewerton, NY as the tow truck driver. He was pre-deceased by his son Melvin R. Burr in 2002. Mr. Burr is survived by his wife of 60 years Dorothy Burr of Phoenix, their 2 sons: James Burr of Phoenix, NY and Raymond (Patty) Burr of Phoenix, NY, 2 sisters Linda Fazekas of Boonville, NY and Irene Golden of Boonville, NY, 22 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. There will be no funeral services. Burial will be held privately. Calling hours will be conducted 4:00 to 7:00 PM Wednesday, September 5th at the Sugar Funeral Home, Inc., 224 W. 2nd St. S., Fulton, NY.
