David R. Powers

David R. Powers, 32; of Fulton died Saturday at Oswego Hospital.  He was born in Oswego, NY and he has been a resident of Fulton for 4 years.  Mr. Powers worked at Birdseye, Fulton since 2002.  He enjoyed playing pool, NASCAR, Football, riding motorcycles with his brother and spending time with his family and friends.  He was pre-deceased by his father Leroy Powers in 2008.  Mr. Powers is survived by his wife of 10 years Danyel M. Powers of Fulton, his son David Powers, Jr., of Fulton, his mother Rose Powers of Mexico, his brothers and sister:  Michael D. (Tammy) Currier, Kimberly M. (Tim) Paige, Donald L. (Wendy) Currier, and Kenneth W. (Stephanie) Dingman, several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.  Graveside Services and Burial will be held 9:00 AM Monday, June 7th at Vermillion Cemetery with Rev. Sandra Stevens officiating.  Calling hours will be held 4:00 to 7:00 PM Wednesday, June 2nd at Sugar Funeral Home, Inc., 224 W. 2nd St. S. Grace Ferraina, 80; of Fulton died at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Syracuse, NY after a long illness. She was born in Schroeppel, NY and she has been a resident of Fulton for most of her life. Mrs. Ferraina is survived by her companion of 30 years George Matthews of Fulton, five children: Wanda Halstead of Fulton, NY; Frances Oakley of Hannibal, NY; Bertha Bergman of Sandy Creek, NY; Ann Marie LeClair of Zephyrhills, FL, and Richard Ferraina of New Haven, NY; 1 sister Barbara Holden of Ithaca, NY; 12 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held privately. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Fulton. Calling hours will be conducted 4:00 to 6:00 PM Wednesday at the Sugar Funeral Home, Inc., 224 W. 2nd St. S., Fulton.

Lynn Tripp

Lynn Tripp, 52, of Duer Street of Oswego died Tuesday at her home surrounded by her by family. Lynn was born in Oswego and has been a lifetime resident. She worked for Syracuse Brick House as a substance abuse counselor. Lynn was predeceased by her father Dr. Samuel E. Tripp in 1998, and her brothers Lawrence Tripp in 1988, and Dr. Richard Tripp in 1999. She is survived by her husband of eleven years Thomas Smith of Oswego, sons Scott (Kristie) Goewey of Oswego, Justin Smith of San Diego, daughters Nicole (Wayne) Earl of Fulton, Amy (Travis) Boyzuck of Phoenix, her mother Ann Tripp of Webster, brother Dr. Samuel (Mindi) Tripp II of Rochester, sisters LuAnn Irwin of Sodus, Lee Shannon of Rochester, and Shelly (Jim) Dates of Rochester. Lynn is also survived by her grandchildren Cassidy, Wayne, Shelby, Collin, Kaleb, and Cohen. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday 5:00 p.m. at the Sugar & Scanlon Funeral Home, Oswego. Calling hours will be Sunday 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. prior to the service at the Sugar & Scanlon Funeral Home 147 West Fourth Street, Oswego. In lieu of flowers the family request contributions be made in Lynn’s name to the Friends of Oswego County Hospice, PO Box 102, Oswego NY 13126.

John “Stoker” Czeriak

John “Stoker” Czeriak, 88, of Fulton died Sunday at Pontiac Nursing Home, Oswego.  He was born in Fulton and has remained a life resident of Fulton.  Mr. Czeriak was a United States Veteran having served in the Navy during WWII.  Mr. Czeriak retired from the Fulton Post Office after 23 years of service.  He enjoyed being a member of the Fulton Polish Home, the Fulton VFW Post #569 and the Oswego Country Club.  He is survived by his sisters Anna Burnett, and Mary West both of Fulton and Catherine Barsuch of Mexico, and several nieces and nephews.  Funeral Services will be conducted 10:00 AM Thursday at Sugar Funeral Home, Inc., 224 W. 2nd St. S., Fulton, NY with Rev. Robert Stephenson officiating. Burial with military honors by the Fulton VFW Post #569 will be held at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Fulton.  Calling hours will be held 4:00 to 7:00 PM Wednesday at the Sugar Funeral Home, Inc., 224 W. 2nd St. S. Fulton.

Carol Desimone Maury

Carol Desimone Maury, 54; of Port Richey, FL., died at Moffit Cancer Center, Tampa, FL.  She was born in Fulton, NY and she was a former resident of Pennellville, NY.  Mrs. Maury has been a resident of Port Richey, FL. for most of her life. She was past employed with the Phoenix Consolidated School System Transportation Department.  She has worked for Pinellas County School Transportation Department, Florida for over 20 years.  Mrs. Maury was pre-deceased by her father Gerald Hart in 2001.  She is survived by her husband Al Maury of Port Richey, FL., daughter Rae Lynn (Clarence) Dodd of Largo, FL., son Nicolas Maury of Port Richey, FL., mother Shirley Hart of Pennellville, NY, brother Michael (Robin) Ingles of Pennellville, NY, 2 grandchildren:  Myranda, and AJ, and 2 nephews:  Michael and Christopher.  Memorial Services will be held Tuesday, May 18th at 11:00 AM in the First Assembly of God Church, Clearwater, FL.  Burial will be held privately.  The Sugar Funeral Home, Inc., 224 W. 2nd St. S., Fulton, NY has care of the local arrangements.  The family has requested that contributions may be made in honor of Carol Maury to the Moffit Cancer Center, Bone Marrow Transplant Program 12902 Magnolia Dr.; UTC Fund; Tampa, FL. 33612-9416

Joseph F. Mangano

Joseph F. Mangano, 89, of Minetto passed away Sunday, May 9th at St. Luke Health Services, Oswego.  He was born in Oswego to the late Charles and Elizabeth (Castiglia) Mangano. He has lived most of his life in Minetto, NY.  Mr. Mangano was a United States Veteran having served from 1944 to 1968 in the Air Force and Army during WW II and the Korean War.  He retired in 1986 from Carrier Corporation, Syracuse.  He then served as the Minetto Town Code Enforcement Officer and later as the Minetto Town Supervisor.  He then became the Minetto Town’s Chief Tax Assessor.  Mr. Mangano served as the Adjutant of the American Legion Post #486, Minetto.  He was a member of the Oswego Bowling Hall of Fame, and the Fulton Elks Lodge.  He was an avid golfer.  He was pre-deceased by his sisters:  Florence Bellomo, Carmella Bugow, Jane Trepasso, Edna Mangano, Frances Chiarella, Delores Gentile and his brother Anthony Mangano.  Mr. Mangano is survived by his wife of 60 years; Betty (Baldwin) Mangano and his children:  Judy (Robert) Young, James Mangano, Paul (Barbara) Mangano, Teresa (Tom) Schaffer and Catherine (Gary) Hubbard, 14 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.  Funeral Services will be held Thursday 9:00 AM in the Sugar & Scanlon Funeral Home, Oswego with Pastor Bruce Schrader officiating.  Burial will be in Minetto Cemetery where the Fulton VFW Post #569 will give military honors.  Calling hours will be held 4:00 to 7:00 PM Wednesday at the Sugar & Scanlon Funeral Home, 147 W. 4th St. Oswego.  The family has requested that donations may be made to the charity of your choice.

Diane Mosher Cosselman, 62 of New Haven died Sunday, May 9th at her home after a long illness.  She was born in Oswego and she has lived in New Haven for 35 years.  Mrs. Cosselman enjoyed crocheting, arts and crafts, fishing, boating and being with her family and friends.  She was pre-deceased by her husband Henry Cosselman in 2005, and her mother Anne Mosher in 2009.  She is survived by her children:  Roy Bailey of CA, Jason Bailey of Oswego, NY, Theresa Bailey of Oswego, Brandy Lagasse of OH, her father Thomas Mosher of Oswego, brother Tom (Mary Grace) Mosher of CA, and sister Mary (Richard) King of Oswego, 8 grandchildren, several step grandchildren, 1 step great grandchild, and several nieces and nephews.  Memorial Services will be held 6:00 PM   Thursday at the Sugar & Scanlon Funeral Home with Rev. George Wurtz officiating.  Burial will be private.  Calling hours will be held 4:00 to 6:00 PM Thursday at the Sugar & Scanlon 147 W. 4th St. Oswego.
