Marguerite Davis, 97; of Fulton died Sunday at Sunrise Nursing Home.  She was born in Sterling Valley, NY and was a resident of Fulton for most of her life.  She retired from the quality control department in Sealright Co.  Mrs. Davis was a member of the Fulton Moose Lodge.  She was pre-deceased by her husband George E. Davis in 1970 and son James Davis.  She is survived by her sons:  George (Jeanette) Davis, Donald Davis both of Fulton, and Robert (Marcia) Davis of Rochester, NY, daughter-in-law Lucy Davis of Fulton, 8 grandchildren:  Doreen, Karen, George, JoAnne, Stanley, Sandra, William, and Michael, and 13 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Friday in the 1st United Church of Fulton with Rev. David Nethercott.  Burial will be held in the spring at Fairdale Cemetery, Hannibal.  Calling hours will be held 4:00 to 7:00 PM Thursday at the Sugar Funeral Home, Inc., 224 W. St. S. Fulton.  In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in her name to the First United Methodist Church, 33 South Third St. Fulton.

Veronica Moryl

Veronica Moryl of W. 3rd St. Fulton died Friday at her home.  She was retired from Nestles Co., Fulton.  Mrs. Moryl was a life member of the Hannibal American Legion, the Fulton VFW Ladies Auxiliary, and the Polish Legion of American Veterans.  Mrs. Moryl was pre-deceased by her husband of 62 years Stephen Moryl in 1999.  She is survived by her sons Stephen (Gail) Moryl of Oswego, and Dennis (Patty) Moryl of Brewerton, 5 grandchildren Heidi (Clinton) Roeder, Laurie (Ty) Fitzpatrick, Tammy (Brian) Dona, Valerie Moryl and Christopher Moryl; 5 great grandchildren:  Ella, Miles, Tate, Max, and Preston.  Funeral Services and Calling Hours will be held privately. Suzanne Marie Basualdo

Suzanne Marie Basualdo 59 of Oswego, New York died peacefully in her home surrounded by her family on Monday January 18, 2010. She was born March 3, 1950 in Buffalo, NY, the daughter of Marian Williams and the late LeRay Williams, she was the youngest of four siblings. Her son Julian Basualdo predeceased her February 21, 2001. Mrs. Basualdo is survived by her husband of 39 years, Eugenio Basualdo, of Oswego, her daughter Antoinette and son-in-law Paul Delmonico of Boston, Massachusetts; grandsons Julian and Levon; brothers Donald (Teresa) and Thomas (Susan) Williams, her sister, Barbara (Donald) Coleman; and many nieces and nephews. Suzanne taught Special Education for 29 years: 26 of them at the Oswego Middle School. A Memorial service will be held Saturday June 5th at 1pm at the Oswego Middle, Oswego, NY. The arrangements are in the care of the Sugar & Scanlon Funeral Home 147 West Fourth Street, Oswego. Langden Greenwood, infant son of Christine Clew and Michael Greenwood.  He was survived by his sisters:  Jasmine Clew and Aries Greenwood.  Graveside services and burial will be held in the spring at Mt. Adnah Cemetery, Fulton.  The Sugar Funeral Home, Inc., 224 W. 2nd St. S. Helen Rose Taormina

Helen Rose Taormina, 80, of Oswego died Wednesday evening in St. Luke Health Services. She was born in Oswego the daughter of the late Dominic and Elizabeth (DiBartolomeo) Pompei. She was married to her husband Anthony Taormina at St. Joseph Church August 24, 1946, and he predeceased her in death March 12, 2009. She was a former employee of Sealright, Fulton, and a past member of the Columbiettes Council #226 of Oswego. Mrs. Taormina was a very loving and caring wife, mother, and grandmother.  She is survived by her children Toni (Robert) Tobin of Pittsfield, MA, Marion (Jerry) Pooler of Oswego, Annette (Dan) Dullen of Baldwinsville, Anthony (Cynthia) Taormina of Liverpool, and Mark Taormina of Oswego. In addition she is survived by her sister Mary Drake of CA, thirteen grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Taormina was predeceased by her brothers and sister  Felice, Romeo, Americo, Domenica, Giovanni, Querino, and Thomas Pompei. Funeral services will be Monday 8:00 a.m. from the Sugar & Scanlon Funeral Home and 9:00 a.m. in St. Paul’s Church. Burial will be in All Saints Mausoleum. Jeanette A. Cocopoti, 64, of Granby died Monday, January 11th at home after a two-year battle with cancer.  She was born in Fulton to the late Francis and Eva Bonnie.  Mrs. Cocopoti remained a lifetime resident of Fulton.  She is survived by her husband of 46 years Thomas Cocopoti Sr. of Granby, her 6 children:  Jerry Cocopoti of Volney, Tina Ouderkirk of Plattsburgh, NY, Charlene Bartlett of Fulton, Thomas Cocopoti Jr. of Fulton, Santa Cocopoti of Granby, and Chastity Austin of Fulton, her siblings Dorothy Ouderkirk of Palermo, Hank Bonnie of Fulton, and Keitha Bonnie of Fulton, 24 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.  Funeral Services will be held 9:00 AM Friday in the Sugar Funeral Home, Inc., 224 W. 2nd St. S. Fulton with Rev. Bernard “Bernie” M. Purington, 75, of Fulton died Monday at Van Duyn Home in Syracuse after a long illness. Mr. Purington was born in Fulton, the son of the late John Purington in 1952, and his mother Hertha  Klick Purington in 1982. Bernie worked for Nestle’s for forty-one years before his retirement. He was a former member of the Knights of Columbus, and a communicant of Holy Trinity Church. Bernie always loved his cats.  Funeral Services be Thursday 9:30 a.m. in Holy Trinity Church, Fulton. Spring burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Fulton. Calling hours will be Wednesday 3:00- 6:00 p.m. at the Sugar Funeral Home 224 West Second Street S, Fulton.

Curtis L. Bonnell, Sr.; 62 of Fulton died Tuesday, January 5, 2009 at the Veterans Administration Hospital, Syracuse after a long illness.  He was born in Fulton to the late George and Beulah (Pierce) Bonnell.  Mr. Bonnell has remained a life resident of Fulton.  He was a Disabled American Veteran having served in the Navy from 1965 to 1969.  Mr. Bonnell worked as a mechanic with Birdseye, Millers, and J.R. Simplot.  He was pre-deceased by his son Christopher Bonnell Sr., in 1998, and 2 brothers Fred Bonnell and Bill Bonnell and his sister Cathy Haresign.  Mr. Bonnell is survived by his wife of 38 years Martha (Whitney) Bonnell of Fulton, his children:  Curtis (Heather) Bonnell, Jr., Lisa (Jason) Gobien of Hinsdale, NY, Scott and Mike Bonnell both of Fulton, 3 sisters:  Nancy (Art) Wright of Martville, NY, Barbara (George) Morrison of Fulton, and Marsha Quigley of VA, 11 grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.  Funeral Services will be conducted 7:00 PM Friday at the Sugar Funeral Home, Inc., with Rev. Mark Kimpland.  Burial will be in the spring at Mt. Adnah Cemetery, Fulton.  Calling hours will be held 4:00 to 7:00 PM Friday at the Sugar Funeral Home, Inc., 224 W. 2nd St. S. Fulton.
