Milton L. Gross, 74; of Fulton died Tuesday, October 27, 2009 at Seneca Hill Manor, Volney, NY.  He was born in Syracuse, NY and he has been a life resident of Fulton.  Mr. Gross was a US Veteran having served in the Navy during the Korean War from 1953 to 1957.  He owned and operated M&N Appliance Repair.  He was a member of the Fulton VFW #569 and the Fulton American Legion and Fulton Polish Home.  He is survived by his wife Nancy Fullerton Gross of Fulton, his children Doloros (Dan) Fullerton of Liverpool, NY, Michelle Vernetti of Liverpool, NY, Tammy (Bill) Hoegler of Fulton, Bridget (Alex) McDonald of CO, Tina (Rob) Jones of Cicero, NY, Greg (Connie) Gross of Baldwinsville, NY, 3 sisters Gerry Quick of FL, Edith DeLong (Bob) of Clay, Marge (Cliff) Moringstar of OH, 4 grandchildren Jason Jessmore, Joseph Vernetti, Matthew and Jamie Hoegler and several nieces and nephews.  Funeral Services will be held 10:00 AM Friday at the Sugar Funeral Home, Inc., 224 W. 2nd St. S. Fulton.  Burial will be in Chase Cemetery, Lysander, NY.  Calling hours will be conducted Thursday from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at the Sugar Funeral Home, Inc., 224 W. 2nd St. S. Fulton.

Thomas Paul ScanlonThomas P. Scanlon, 66; of Fulton died peacefully with his family at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Syracuse after courageously fighting Pulmonary Fibrosis.  He was born in Fulton and has remained a life resident of Fulton.  Mr. Scanlon was a United States Veteran having served in the Marine Corp. during the Vietnam War from 1964 to 1967.  He continued his military service in the Marine Corp., Reserves from 1967 to 1970.  Mr. Scanlon retired from Niagara Mohawk with over 33 years of employment.  He was a member of the Fulton VFW #569.  Mr. Scanlon is survived by his companion of 21 years Nancy Close of Fulton, his children:  Kathleen (Rob) Godden of Oswego, Maura (Matthew) Kenyon of Hannibal, Thomas (Jackie) Scanlon of Oswego, Carrie (Steven) Bixby of Fulton, Carl (Kara) Close of WA, Calista (Richard) Amering of Rochester, NY, Sam (Amanda) Close of Fulton, his sisters:  Armeine Sherman of Fulton, and Patricia Eckerd of Frewsburg, NY, 10 grandchildren:  Laura Godden, Thomas, Meghan, Michael Kenyon, Thomas R. Scanlon, Ryan Bixby, Christopher Bixby, Nellie, and Sophie Amering, and Chloe Close, and several nieces and nephews.  Funeral Services will be conducted 11:30 AM Wednesday in Holy Trinity Church, Fulton.  Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery, Oswego. Calling hours will be held 4:00 to 7:00 PM Tuesday at Sugar Funeral Home, Inc., 224 W. 2nd St. S. Betty O’Bryan, 88; of Fulton died Friday at the home of her daughter.  She was born in Ira Hill, NY and she has been a resident of Martville, and Fulton all of her life.  Mrs. O’Bryan was a graduate from the Auburn School of Nursing, Auburn, NY, and she received her Master’s Degree in Education from Syracuse University.  Mrs. O’Bryan was a US Veteran having served during WWII in the Airforce as a Nurse.  She retired from Redcreek Consolidated School System as a Nurse and Teacher.  She was pre-deceased by her husband Frederick O’Bryan in 1996.  Mrs. O’Bryan is survived by her son David (Christine) O’Bryan of Fulton, and her daughter Susan (Robert) Williams of Fulton, her siblings:  Paul Smith and Mary Haye both of Geneva, NY; 4 grandchildren:  David Joseph O’Bryan, Bridget Pluff, Carissa M. Sievers, and Robert Williams III,  2 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.  Funeral Services will be private.  There will be no calling hours.  Burial will be held privately at Martville Cemetery, Martville, NY.  The Sugar Funeral Home, Inc., 224 W. 2nd St. S. Fulton, NY has care of the arrangements.

Willard Corbett Sr.

Willard Corbett Sr., 77, of Varick Street, Oswego died Thursday morning in the Oswego Hospital. He was born in Watertown the son of the late Joseph and Esther (Yousey) Corbett. Mr. Corbett was a member of the Plumbers & Steamfitters Local # 73, Oswego, where he worked from the local for many years before his retirement. He served in the US Army from 1948 until 1957. Mr. Corbett is survived by his companion of 43 years, and his son Willard Corbett II of Miami, FL, and daughter Susan (Greg) Peterson of Volney his brothers and sisters, and four grandsons and two granddaughters. Funeral services and burial will be private. The arrangements are in the care of the Sugar & Scanlon Funeral Home 147 West Fourth Street, Oswego.

Robert A. Colton Jr., 73, of West Schuyler Street, Oswego died Wednesday evening at his home. He was born in Oswego the son of the late Robert and Cora (Tullar) Colton. Robert was a resident of Fulton until moving to Oswego thirty years ago. He received his Teacher’s Degree in music from the St. Louis Institute of Music and his Performance Degree. Robert taught private piano lessons for many years in Fulton. He was a member of the Tri County Four, where he enjoyed playing the piano and organ in many restaurants and lodges including the former Seneca Lounge, and Cabaret, in the Central New York area.  He was also employed at Paul’s Big M in Oswego for many years. Funeral services and burial will be private. The arrangements are in the care of the Sugar & Scanlon Funeral Home 147 West Fourth Street, Oswego.

Richard “Wolfman” Davis, 50, of Powers Drive, Fulton died Monday evening in University Hospital, Syracuse.  Mr. Davis was born in Oneida, NY the son of the late Gerald and Ursela Davis. He was employed with Superior Construction, Syracuse, as a framer. Mr. Davis served in the United States Navy. He is survived by his wife Sandra Miner Davis of Fulton, two daughters Shelby Wheeler of Fulton, and Anna (David) Kolodziejczyk of Syracuse, his brothers Charles and Daniel Davis of Camden and sisters Lori King of Williamstown, and Deborah Davis of Rome. He is also survived by his two grandchildren Caitlyn and David.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                Calling hours will be Saturday from 4:00 –7 :00 p.m. at the Sugar Funeral Home, Inc., 224 W. 2nd St. S. Fulton. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Education Fund for Shelby Wheeler.

Tina Hammond, 93; of Syracuse died Sunday at Oswego Hospital.  She was born in Syracuse, NY and she was a life resident of Syracuse.    Mrs. Hammond retired from Carrier Corp. as a Project Coordinator.  She was an avid supporter of Boys Town. Mrs. Hammond was pre-deceased by her husband Rodric Hammond in 1975, and her grandson Rodric Toscano in 2003.   She is survived by her daughter Chiarina (Fred) Patane of Hannibal, her granddaughter TinaLee Spriggs of Mexico, 2 great grandchildren EneaRay, Machaela Spriggs, and 6 step great grandchildren.  Funeral Services will be held 12:30 PM Wednesday in the Sugar Funeral Home, Inc., with Pastor Jack Spriggs officiating.  Entombment will be held in Woodlawn Cemetery, Syracuse, NY.  Calling hours will be conducted at 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM Wednesday at Sugar Funeral Home, Inc., 224 W. 2nd St. S. Fulton.

Patricia Graziano, 73; of Fulton died Friday, October 16th at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Syracuse.  She was born in Black River, NY and she was a lifetime resident of Fulton.  She was a graduate of Pulaski Academy. Mrs. Graziano retired from A.L. Lee Memorial Hospital, Fulton as a Billing Supervisor.  She is survived by her husband of 53 years Kent B. Graziano of Fulton, her sons: Kent (Arlene) Graziano Jr. of TX, Joseph (Mary) Graziano of Camillus, Andrew (Tammy) Graziano of North Syracuse, her brother Fred (Joanne) Burnash of Pittsford, NY; her sister Barbara Koski of North Syracuse, 4 grandchildren:  Russell, Paris, Katie, Biaggio, and several nieces and nephews.  Funeral Services will be conducted 9:00 AM Wednesday at the Sugar Funeral Home, Inc., and 9:30 AM at Holy Trinity Church, Fulton.  Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Fulton.  Calling hours will be held 4:00 to 7:00 PM Tuesday at the Sugar Funeral Home, Inc., 224 W. 2nd St. S. Michael S. Krawczyk, 49, of Rathburn Rd. died peacefully Thursday evening October 15, 2009 surrounded by his family, and friends. Mike was born in Oswego and has remained a lifetime resident of the area. He worked as a pipe fitter, planner, and scheduler at Interface Solutions in Volney. He was the treasurer and a very active member of the Unite Here Local 701T. Mike was a lifetime member of the NRA. He was an avid outdoorsman enjoying all activities especially hunting and fishing. No job was ever to big or to small and Mike was always there to help family, friends, or anyone in need. He will also be remembered for his wonderful cooking. Mike is survived by his loving wife of twenty-two years Sherry (Blodgett) Krawczyk of Oswego, his parents Stanley (Kathy) Krawczyk of Oswego his mother Sandra Chalone of Minetto, his sisters and brothers Sherri (Bud) Matott of FL, Stan (Bridget) Krawczyk of Minetto, Amy Krawczyk of Oswego, and Richard Leonard of Minetto. He is also survived by his paternal grandmother Louise Krawczyk of Minetto, and maternal grandmother Berneice Brewer of Pulaski. In addition to his family Mike is survived by his faithful companion Bo.  Calling hours will be Monday 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the Sugar & Scanlon Funeral Home 147 West Fourth Street, Oswego. Josephine Barillo, 87, a lifelong resident of Liberty Street, died Sunday evening in St. Luke Health Service. Josephine was born in Oswego the daughter of the late Vincenzo and Angelina (Pera) Barillo. She was a former secretary at Hammermill, Papertronics, and for Stone and Webster.  Josephine was a communicant of St. Joseph Church, Oswego.  Josephine was a lifelong New York Yankees Fan, she never missed a game. She also played fast pitch softball as a young woman. She was predeceased by her two sisters Grace King, and Frances Brancato, and brothers Peter, James, John, Michael, and Joseph Barillo.  Josephine is survived by her sister and brother-in-law Rose and Thomas Battista of Oswego, and several nieces, and nephews, great nieces, nephews, great great nieces and nephews. . Funeral services will be conducted Thursday       9:00 a.m. in St. Joseph Church. Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4:00 – 7:00 at the Sugar & Scanlon Funeral Home 147 West Fourth Street Oswego.
