Michael A Solazzo, 73, of Oswego, died Sunday at his home with his family at his side. He was born in Oswego the son of the late Joseph and Concetta (Gambino) Solazzo Sr. He worked with the Laborers Local #214, Oswego and Laborers Local #633, Syracuse, for over 48 years. He was a member of the National Guard, the American Legion and VFW. He enjoyed hunting especially with his relatives at the family hunting cabin in the Southern Tier. Mike is survived by his son Matthew Solazzo of Oswego, sisters Frances Solazzo and Anna Fitzsimmons both of Oswego, his grandson Mark Solazzo of Oswego, and several nieces, and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son Mark Solazzo, and siblings Nicholas, Tony, Dominick, Joseph, and John Solazzo, and Augustina Bendzunas, Connie Pelkey, Rose Solazzo, Mary Walsh and Jane Farfaglia. Funeral services will be Thursday at 11:00 a.m. in St. Joseph Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. at the Sugar Scanlon Funeral Home 147 W. 4th. St Oswego.
